A Dunkirk man faces drug-related charges after Indiana State Police troopers found marijuana growing on his property Monday.
Timothy B. Smith, 39, 12661 E. Eaton-Albany Pike, is being held in the Delaware County Jail on $10,000 bond on suspicion of cultivating marijuana over 30 grams and maintaining a common nuisance, both Class D felonies.
Troopers received a tip that marijuana was growing on Smith’s property, and when they flew over the land in a helicopter Monday they spotted several plants growing outside, according to a news release from Sgt. Rod Russell, ISP Redkey Post spokesman.
Troopers obtained a search warrant and discovered an indoor grow operation inside Smith’s home, along with the plants growing outside. Smith wasn’t at home during the search, but arrived later and was arrested, according to the news release.
Anyone with information about marijuana grow operations should call the ISP tip line at (888) 873-1694 or (800) 761-2985.
