An ice storm that began Tuesday has carried over into Wednesday, causing delays for local schools and other institutions.
Alexandria Community Schools, Anderson Christian School, Anderson Community Schools, Daleville Community Schools, Elwood Community Schools, Fortville Community Christian School, Frankton-Lapel Community Schools, Liberty Christian School, Madison-Grant United Schools, South Madison Community Schools and St. Mary School-Anderson are all operating on a two-hour delay Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, Gateway Child Development day care is operating on a two-hour delay with no morning classes, Pendleton Christian Church kindergarten is on a two-hour delay with no morning pre-kindergarten and Promise Land Daycare is also on a two-hour delay. Reflectix, Inc. of Markleville has announced it will close for the day.

Handicapped murder convict alleges prison discrimination
Since October 2006, Donald Lock has been confined to a wheel chair because of a degenerative bone disease. He has spent time at correctional facilities throughout the state, but it wasn’t until he was transferred to Pendleton earlier this year that he said he felt his disability was ignored.
