The Indiana Department of Environmental Management will hold a public informational session concerning the Mallard Lake landfill on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Public Library, 111 E 12th St.
IDEM staffers, including a geologist, engineer and permit manager, will be on hand to discuss environmental regulations for the construction and operation of landfills and the Mallard Lake landfill proposal. IDEM will provide maps and diagrams for public review and fact sheets for citizens to take home.

Handicapped murder convict alleges prison discrimination
Since October 2006, Donald Lock has been confined to a wheel chair because of a degenerative bone disease. He has spent time at correctional facilities throughout the state, but it wasn’t until he was transferred to Pendleton earlier this year that he said he felt his disability was ignored.
