A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for parts of Central Indiana, including Madison County.
The watch includes Bartholomew, Benton, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Madison, Marion, Martin, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren counties and is in effect until noon.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely today, mainly before 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis.
Overall, today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 86. There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tongiht, witha low around 65.
