Noon: Edwards to appear at IU in November

The Associated Press

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards will visit Indiana University next month as he resumes public speaking following his admission in August of an extramarital affair.

The Indiana Memorial Union Board announced Wednesday that Edwards would speak at the IU Auditorium on Nov. 11, one week after Election Day. Edwards will talk about what the election results mean for the country.

The 2004 Democratic vice presidential nominee last month canceled all his speaking engagements until after the election, saying he did not want to distract from the presidential election and Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

Edwards’ speaking agency did not immediately return a telephone call from The Associated Press on whether the former North Carolina senator had scheduled other appearances.

Edwards has not publicly spoken since acknowledging he had an extramarital affair in 2006.
