ANDERSON — Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Madison County man on a warrant Thursday after the county prosecutor found enough evidence to charge him with molesting a 3-year-old girl in his home.
Sean D. Beckstrom, 44, whose address is listed in Alexandria, was initially questioned by Chesterfield police after the girl complained of pain after returning from his home, Chesterfield Police Department Capt. Steve Mullen said.
“We brought the suspect in, and he denied all allegations,” Mullen said.
The girl’s mother took her to a hospital in Muncie, where she lives, for a medical exam, and Madison County Sexual Assault Treatment Center Director Holly Renz also did an exam before presenting evidence to the prosecutor that indicated the girl had been molested, Mullen said.
Mullen, who investigated the incident, did not know how many times Beckstrom allegedly had molested the girl.
“We know of at least maybe two or three times,” he said.
The Herald Bulletin generally does not identify victims of reported sex crimes.
Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson said a warrant was issued for Beckstrom on April 16, and he was arrested Thursday at 12:35 p.m. Beckstrom was suspected of two counts of Class A felony child molestation.
Beckstrom remained in the Madison County Jail on Friday on a $35,000 full cash bond.

But a small group of patrons wait until after hours, lock themselves in the back room of the Alexandria-Monroe Public Library, eat popcorn, drink soda and loudly scoff as they watch bad movies.
