ANDERSON — You’d have no shot at basketball on this court.
The gymnasium at the former South Side Middle School is filled with chairs, tables, file cabinets and other furniture removed from Robinson and Southview elementary schools, which closed at the end of the school year.
South Side also closed and is the new home for Anderson Community Schools’ administration center, formerly housed in the Wigwam.
Interim Superintendent Lennon Brown said Thursday that the furniture from the closed schools will go to other schools, particularly Anderson and 29th Street, which are gaining most of the students from Robinson and Southview.
What’s left will go into an auction of surplus items after the school year begins, Brown said.
Brown said ACS offices are using only the ground floor at South Side, and that the second floor would be sealed off to save utilities.
