ANDERSON, Ind. -- A squirrel has been blamed for a power outage this morning that affected the southwest quadrant of Anderson.
Jim Anthony, line operation supervisor for Anderson Light & Power, said remains of the squirrel were found inside the Roosevelt Station near the intersection of Madison Avenue and 53rd Street on the south side of Anderson. The outage occurred around 8:40 a.m.
“That whole station was out,” Anthony said. “It had power out from about 29th Street clear to the interstate, and from Columbus west to the city limits.”
By around 9:10 a.m., Anthony said, power had been restored. He encouraged Anderson Light & Power customers who are still without electricity to call its trouble line at 648-6484..
