ALEXANDRIA — Three people were arrested in connection with a methamphetamine bust Sunday in Alexandria.
Joseph F. Rastetter II, 25, and Kevin Ellis, 41, both of Alexandria, were arrested on suspicion of dealing meth and possession of meth, marijuana and paraphernalia, according to Alexandria police.
Richmond resident Ashlee K. Pierce, 26, was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth, controlled substance, narcotic drug and paraphernalia.
Ellis and Pierce also were suspected of visiting a common nuisance, and Rastetter was suspected of maintaining a common nuisance.
According to an Alexandria police release, K-9 Officer Jason Austin and Officer Matt Ellis responded to a 911 call in the 600 block of West Madison Street. When Austin neared the front door, he smelled an odor associated with manufacturing methamphetamine.
After the house was secured, the officers obtained a search warrant and found equipment inside the house used for making the illegal drug. A specialized team from the Indiana State Police handled the hazardous materials in the house, according to the release.
It was unclear Monday night how much of the drug or ingredients to make it were seized from the house.
