PENDLETON — Pendleton Community Public Library, in cooperation with WIPB-TV and Indiana Public Radio, will have Sen. Richard Lugar as the final distinguished guest of the Indiana Living Biography Series at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 in the library’s community room.
The Indiana Living Biography Series profiles four Indiana legends over the course of the year. Featured guests are interviewed in front of a live audience where they share their individual stories and life lessons. Each interview will be recorded for future television and radio broadcasts. Past guests include singer-songwriter Bill Gaither, Sen. Evan Bayh, and basketball legend Bobby “Slick” Leonard.
Richard Lugar is a fifth-generation Hoosier and is the U.S. Senate’s most senior Republican and longest serving U.S. senator in Indiana history. A former two-term mayor of Indianapolis, he was first elected to the Senate in 1976. He is the Republican leader of the Foreign Relations Committee and a member and former Chairman of the Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee.
