Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet” event to be held today




ANDERSON – Clarian Health, the Indiana Poison Center, Marsh Pharmacies, Statewide Medical Services and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management are partnering to provide a two-day “Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet” event on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During this two-day event, individuals will be able to safely dispose of medications that meet the following criteria:

u Pills, capsules and liquids (no needles, inhalers, sharps, or aerosols)

u Medicine must be in original container with original label intact

u Medicines that have the words “toxic,” “corrosive,” “reactive” or “ignitable” on them will not be accepted

u Only one type of medication can be in a single container – no mixtures

u No pill organizers will be accepted.

u No controlled or illegal substances (check with a regular pharmacist to determine if a medicine is controlled)

Expired and unwanted medications can be dropped off at any of Indiana’s 41 Marsh pharmacies. For the pharmacy location nearest you, visit www.marsh.net.
