ANDERSON, Ind. —
Three people were sent to the hospital after a truck smashed into a sedan along Indiana 9 on Thursday.
The crash originally involved a 2003 Dodge Ram driven by Georgie Norris, 80, of Anderson, and a 2001 Chevrolet Impala driven by Joe Linger, 31, of Alexandria, but a third vehicle was also struck as the cars spun out of control.
Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department Capt. Darren Study said firefighters initially believed the crash was much more serious because it was erroneously reported to be a head-on collision.
Firefighters initially alerted a nearby medical helicopter to the scene, but canceled the call.
Norris, Linder and passenger Aaron Blackburn, 31, of Alexandria, were taken to Community Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports.
