ANDERSON, Ind. —
Three roommates were arrested Tuesday for allegedly helping a man run a methamphetamine lab in their house for six months.
Thomas Swallow, 39, of Anderson, faces allegations of manufacturing meth and maintaining a drug lab in the home of Russell Turpen, Timothy Johnson and Kristi McGuire in the 700 block of West Third Street, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Turpen, 40; Johnson, 40; and McGuire, 28, each face charges for aiding Swallow.
Police split up to arrest the four, raiding Turpen’s house on Third street and following Swallow’s van to a trailer park on Willow Street at about 3 p.m. Drug task force detectives were aware of the allegations of Swallow’s meth cooking for some time, according to the report.
Detectives said they found meth and various materials used to make meth in an upstairs room of Turpen’s house. According to the affidavit, Turpen admitted to allowing Swallow to stay at the house in exchange for money and meth. Turpen, McGuire and Johnson also admitted to regularly buying fertilizer, solvents, batteries and pills for Swallow to make meth.
Johnson reportedly told police he had been getting meth from Swallow for six months.
Police said they questioned Swallow at Willow Street, and he admitted the lab was his. He also reportedly told detectives he cooked meth at least six times in the past month and sold it almost every day.
Swallow faces felony charges of manufacturing and possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of a controlled substance.
Turpen, Johnson and McGuire face felony charges of aiding in the manufacture of meth and maintaining a common nuisance.
All four suspects remained in the Madison County Jail on Thursday pending bond.
