ANDERSON, Ind. — A compilation of news items from the Madison County area:

Colts’ volunteer training session added

ANDERSON — An additional session for Colts training camp host training has been added. Trained hosts will be eligible to volunteer at training camp during the Colts’ sojourn at Anderson University.

The volunteers’ training will take place in the lobby of Reardon Auditorium from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Please bring photo ID to the session. Indicate your interest in attending the session by calling Tammy Bowman at 648-6009 or e-mailing tabowman@cityofanderson.com.



Church Women host fellowship, prayer

ANDERSON — Church Women United of Madison County invites women of the community to join the group for fellowship and prayer at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Southdale Nazarene, 530 W. 53rd St.

A freewill offering will be collected for use for local concerns. For more information, call Janet at 778-3897.



Rummage sale aids Haiti mission

ANDERSON — An all-church rummage sale to be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday will benefit a medical mission trip to Haiti in December. The sale will be at Florida Station Church of God, 1025 W. 375N.



Service club frying up burgers Saturday

ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Men’s Service Club will be frying hamburgers and hot dogs at Cox Super Market, 302 N. Harrison St., from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. This is a fundraiser with proceeds going to community affairs.



AHS class of ‘60 seeks classmates

ANDERSON — Anderson High School Class of 1960 reunion is set for Sept. 17 and 18. The committee is asking for help in locating the following classmates:

Physician’s story to be told at Heartland

MUNCIE — “Wandering From Kentucky,” an original play written by the late Fred Woodress and his wife, Anne B. Woodress, will be presented by The Heartland Stage Company at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at The Muncie Civic Theatre Mainstage. This event is free to the public.

This will be a staged reading telling the story of a physician in Kentucky in the early 1800s trying to establish the first medical school.



WFMS host up for ‘Regis and Kelly’ spot

ANDERSON — Anderson native Deborah Honeycutt, morning talk show host for 99.5 WFMS, is a step closer to being a co-host on “Live! With Regis and Kelly.” She is among 100 facing the cut from the “Women of Radio Co-Host for a Day Search.”
