Daniels to speak to chamber members

MUNCIE ­— Gov. Mitch Daniels will address members of the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Vision 2011 Investors and their guests at a breakfast meeting Aug. 11 at the Horizon Convention Center.

Cost to attend is $20 per person or a table of six for $120 for reservations before Aug. 5. Later reservations will be charged $45 a person. The event is open to Chamber members, their employees and guests, as well as Vision 2011 investors.

Still time for science camp sign-up

ANDERSON — Children between the ages of 6 and 12 years of age may still register for Science Day Camp, which will be Aug. 2-6.

The registration fee of $50 will cover the cost of field trips, lunch and all transportation. Children must be registered by 9 a.m. Monday. Information: 620-4166.



Creek Fest scheduled for Saturday

SELMA — Creek Fest 2010 — featuring live music, food and fireworks — will be Saturday at Prairie Creek Lake Reservoir, east of Muncie near Selma.

Admission is free with tickets, available at various outlets in east central Indiana. Parking will be $5. Proceeds will benefit the Liberty Township Fire Department,

Creek Fest, sponsored by Backyard Broadcasting and Bud Light, features seven live acts, beginning at 1 p.m. The last band, Duke Tumatoe and the Power Trio, take the stage at 8 p.m.

The Bud Light Up the Night Boat Parade will be on the lake at 9:30 p.m., and a fireworks display is scheduled for 10 p.m.



Airport board plans executive session

ANDERSON — The Board of Aviation Commissioners will meet to discuss personnel in a closed executive session at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Anderson Municipal Airport.

The board’s next public meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the airport.
