Hamburger fry to benefit MCHS

ANDERSON — A hamburger fry will be held today and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Harvest Market, corner of East Eighth Street and Scatterfield Road.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Madison County Humane Society.

 

Youth group hosts giveaway

ANDERSON — Youth in Action from the Progessive Temple of Faith Church will host a giveaway from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Geater Center, 17th and Lincoln streets.

Holiday items, clothing, shoes, purses, baby clothes, will be among the items available. Everyone is welcome.



Women’s group luncheon Saturday

ANDERSON — The Business and Professional Women’s Federation luncheon will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Saint Mark Church of God in Christ, 2232 Dewey St.

The speaker will be missionary Cynthia Bush of Mount Zion District.

Frazier’s ending summer with 40 cars

ANDERSON — As part of Frazier’s Dairy Maid End of Summer Blast the there will be a car display with over 40 cars from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. Frazier’s, 3311 Main St., will also have food and ice cream specials.



Square dance set for Sunday at Rangeline

ANDERSON —  Footloose Square Dance Club will host a square dance on Sunday at the Rangeline Community Center, 1405 N. Rangeline Road.

Caller is Jerry Rash and the cuer is Don Brown. Pre-rounds are at 6 p.m. and square dance from 6:30 to 9 p.m. There will be door prizes, a half-pot drawing and a food table featuring picnic favorites.

18th annual Bugfest in Indy on Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS —  Don’t run from bugs – learn from them at Southeastway Park’s 18th Annual Bug Fest Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.  

Bug professionals from a wide-range of insect-related fields will spend the afternoon entertaining and educating park visitors about the benefits of bugs.  Families and youth of all ages are invited to this free special event.

Visitors can also try their hand at catching insects in the field or pond, make insect crafts, meet a beekeeper and view insect collections from around the world.  Participants will have the chance to earn the “Doctor of Bugology” degree by visiting at least eight of the scheduled stations at Bug Fest.
