‘Notebook’ is mall’s next senior movie
ANDERSON — The next free senior movie matinee at Mounds Mall Theatre will be Monday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. Showing will be “The Notebook.”
The movie is free to all friends and family accompanying a senior.

Cornerstone classes begin Sept. 13
MUNCIE — It’s still summer, but fall classes are right around the corner, and Cornerstone announces an upcoming 12-week series. Fall classes begin Sept. 13 and end with the annual Cornerstone Celebration on Dec. 12 to showcase student talents.

Cutest Baby Contest set for September
PENDLETON — The Pendleton Business Association will sponsor a Cutest Baby Contest for children ages two and under. To enter, decorate a two-pound coffee can including a picture, name and age of child. Leave the lid in place. Bring the can to The Flower Cart, 105 W. State St., Pendleton by Thursday, Sept 9. The entry form may be filled out when the can is dropped off.
Winners will be determined by the amount of money dropped into the cans during the Downtown Fall Festival Sept. 10-11. Cans will be positioned at the Pendleton Business Association’s information booth at the corner of West State Street and South Pendleton Avenue.
Savings bonds from local banks will be awarded as prizes to the winners with the most “votes.” Winners will be notified by telephone. For information, call Diane Ashley at The Flower Cart at 778-2047.
Highlanders cooking up burgers
ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Marching Highlanders will have a hamburger cookout at Harvest Market’s Columbus Avenue location on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 3-4. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
A hamburger and soda will be $1.50 and the proceeds will go to the AHS band dept. to help offset summer marching band expenses.
K of C to host first fish fry of the season
ANDERSON — The first fish fry of the new season hosted by the Knights of Columbus, 1225 Main St., will be held from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.
