Alex school board set to meet Monday
ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria School Board will hold a regular board meeting and budget hearing on at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13 at the central office, 202 E. Washington St.
There will be an executive session at 6 p.m. before the board meeting and another executive session immediately following the board meeting.
THB business offices to be closed Monday
ANDERSON — The Herald Bulletin business offices will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day. Customer service, 640-4848, will take calls related to newspaper delivery until 10 a.m. The newsroom will be staffed after 4 p.m.
Crime Watch meeting Sept. 16
ANDERSON — The next Southview Crime Watch meeting, which includes Bock and Rabourn’s Addition, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. at the East Lynn Christian Church located at 522 E. 53rd St.
Any south side neighborhood resident or interested party is welcome to attend.
UAW Labor Day picnic to be held
ALEXANDRIA — The annual United Auto Workers Labor Day picnic will be held Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Beulah Park in Alexandria.
The public is welcome.
There will be a car show and entertainment.
Watkins meet-and-greet Sept. 11
ANDERSON — A meet-and-greet for Madison County clerk candidate Ludy Watkins is planned from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Jackson Park, 22nd Street and Raible Avenue.
Free food and entertainment are planned. Eligible voters can be registered and absentee voting application will be available, according to a press release.
