Highland spring concerts start Thursday night

ANDERSON — Highland High School’s band department will present its series of spring concerts beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. in Reardon Auditorium on the Anderson University campus.

Tonight’s performance will feature the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble.

The spring jazz concert, featuring the Blues Band, Jazz Lab Band and Jazz Ensemble, will take place Tuesday at the Highland High School auditorium. Music begins at 7 p.m.



Chicken and noodle dinner to be at church

ANDERSON — An all-you-can-eat chicken and noodle dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 2000 N. Scatterfield Road.

The menu will include chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert and drink. Tickets are $7 for adults, 12 and over; $5 for children ages 5 to 11 and those under the age of 4 eat free.

Eads fundraiser Friday in Anderson

ANDERSON — A baked potato luncheon fundraiser for Kevin Eads, Democrat candidate for Circuit Court judge, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Democrat headquarters, 18 W. 8th St.

Cost is $5 for baked potato and fixings, salad, dessert and drink.



Lenten Breakfast Series continues

ANDERSON — The 2010 Anderson Area Christian Men’s Lenten Breakfast Series continues Saturday at St. Matthew’s UMC, 1512 N. Madison Ave. The service begins promptly at 8 a.m.

All men young and old are invited to attend the fifth breakfast of this series. Free will donations will be accepted. The program lasts approximately 90 minutes. For more information e-mail to: aacmlbs@comcast.net.



Senior bridge club beginning

ANDERSON — Anderson Parks and Recreation and the Geater Community Center will be starting a senior bridge club. The bridge club will meet every Tuesday at 1 p.m. starting Tuesday at the Geater Community Center, 1611 Chase St.

Spring book sale to be held Saturday

ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria-Monroe Public Library will be holding a spring book sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the second-floor book storage area. The library now uses a donation system in which patrons donate what they feel is appropriate for their book purchase.

Proceeds from the sale are used to support the many library programming efforts throughout the year.

Bunny Breakfast & Fashion Revue

ANDERSON — The fifth annual Bunny Breakfast & Fashion Revue will be held Saturday at the Paramount Theatre, 1124 Meridian Plaza. Doors open at 9 a.m. with breakfast at 10 a.m.

A limited number of tickets are available for $6 from the box office or by phoning 642-1234.

Proceeds will benefit the Paramount Foundation.

Ticket price includes breakfast and picture with Nesquick Bunny, a fashion show by Old Navy & Nana’s, an egg hunt in Town Center Park, face painting, live bunnies, crafts by 4-H Junior Leaders and much more.
