Fanning involved in leadership forum

Sandra Fanning, a student at South Side Middle School, participated in the People to People World Leadership Forum held last week in Washington, D.C. She joined a select group of students to earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring some of the U.S.’s most prominent monuments and institutions.

Forum delegates participated in small-group discussions and exercises to experience first-hand how successful leaders develop strategies, make decisions, build consensus, and foster change.

Fanning was nominated and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential. She is the daughter of Chelsie Fanning of Anderson.

Amy Huntsinger of Frankton has received the Chi Omega Scholarship at Indiana State University. Huntsinger is a graduate of Frankton Jr./Sr. High School. She is a junior public relations major and marketing/journalism minor at Indiana State.

Brady is in his senior year at Ball State studying elementary education and special education. He has worked with mentally challenged children and while in high school, at Highland High School, was a peer tutor where he worked with mentally challenged teens for four years.

His love for wrestling has allowed him the opportunity to be a wrestling coach at Highland High School for the past three years, where he currently coaches his brother, Camden Eppert, a junior and 2006 IHSAA 103-pound wrestling state champ.

After graduation he wants to pursue a career in counseling.
