MHHS Class of ‘79 to host 30-year reunion

ANDERSON — Madison Heights High School Class of 1979 will celebrate its 30-year class reunion the evening of Sept. 12 at Hoosier Park.

Middletown alumni dinner July 27

MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown Alumni annual covered dish dinner will be Sunday, July 27, at Shenandoah Elementary School in Middletown.

Doors will open at noon, and dinner will be served at 1 p.m. The class of 1959 will celebrate 50 years. For more information, call 354-2143 or 378-0244.

SmallTown Garden club meets Monday

ALEXANDRIA — SmallTown Garden Club of Alexandria will hold its monthly meeting at the home of Vickie Griffin on Monday.

This will be a field trip about “accessorizing your garden.” A pitch-in will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m.

AHS Class of ‘79 reunion set for July 25

ANDERSON — The 30th reunion for the Anderson High School Class of 1979 will be held on Saturday, July 25, at Riley’s Party Barn, beginning at 6 p.m.

Cost is $30 per person ($50 per couple) and includes live music by Forté, food, and casual fun in a great setting.

Fibromyalgia support group to meet July 8

ANDERSON — Fibromyalgia syndrome causes generalized pain and fatigue in muscles, ligaments and tendons. The five million Americans who have fibromyalgia experience sensations such as burning, gnawing, soreness, stiffness and aching on a daily basis.

Community Hospital Anderson offers a monthly support group for sufferers of this disease. The group will meet on Wednesday, July 8 at 6 p.m. at Community Anderson’s Education Center, 1923 N. Madison Ave. A Community Hospital Anderson physical therapist will speak on suggested stretches and exercises for those with fibromyalgia. Refreshments will be served at the meeting.

Legion Post to host dinners on Friday

CHESTERFIELD — The Chesterfield American Legion Post 408, 5100 Mounds Road, will host steak, pork chop and frog legs dinners on Friday from 5 to 99 p.m.

Rib-eye dinners will be $11.50; New York strip, $8.50; pork chops, $7.50; and frog legs, 3 saddles, $7; and 5 saddles, $10.

On Saturday, there will be a Kids’ Fair from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be good, 13 games for the kids including a moon walk and dunk tank.

Door prizes will be given out, including six bikes and a go-kart will be raffled off.

Frankton 1st UMC to host Fun Fest

FRANKTON – The Frankton First United Methodist Church will host a Fun Fest on Saturday, July 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will be held on the grounds of the church at the southwest corner of Eighth and Sigler streets, Frankton.

There will be free food, games and two moonwalks.

This is a thank-you from the church for those who support its mission work by attending its tenderloin dinners over the years.
