Discussion Thursday about county homes

ANDERSON — A free program about Indiana’s county homes will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at The Anderson Center for the Arts, 32 W. 10th St., in conjunction with artist John Silvey’s exhibition, “But Not Forgotten.” Doors open at 6 p.m.

Speakers will be Silvey; Beth E. Oljace, Indiana Room librarian, Anderson Public Library; Duncan Campbell, College of Architecture and Planning, Ball State University; and Christie Crist, daughter of John Crist, last superintendent of the Madison County Home.

Business forecast to be given at luncheon

ANDERSON — The Chamber of Commerce for Anderson & Madison County will hold its annual Business Outlook Luncheon Tuesday featuring a team of economists giving their forecast for 2010.

The event, which is open to the public, begins at 11:30 a.m. at Anderson Country Club. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling The Chamber office at 642-0264.

Chamber President Keith Pitcher will serve as panel moderator.



School will honor veterans

PENDLETON — Pendleton Elementary School, 327 S. East St., will be honoring veterans on Nov. 11. All veterans in the area are invited to attend. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the school gymnasium.

Winter farmers market to begin

PENDLETON — Pendleton Farmer’s Market is planning a winter farmer’s market to begin Thursday, Nov. 12, 4 to 7 p.m., at Smith Family Farms Party Barn, 7137 W. 675S. Church convention begins Sunday

ANDERSON — The sixth annual Men’s Convention at Christ Temple Apostolic Church will begin Friday and run through Sunday.

Friday’s speaker at 7:30 p.m. will be Suffragan Bishop Charles Finnell of the Christ Temple Apostolic Assembly in Indianapolis.

This year’s theme is “Abounding through the fruit of Prayer, Consecretion and Unity,” Acts 4:33.
