Daleville High honoring veterans

DALEVILLE — The Student Council at Daleville Jr./Sr. High School will host a Veterans Day Assembly at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the school gymnasium.

David Ellis, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a 1991 Daleveille High graduate, will be guest speaker. Local veterans are invited to be recognized. A reception follows the convocation in the library. The band will perform selections.

Humane Society hosting 31st show

ANDERSON — The Madison County SPCA Humane Society will host its 31st annual Christmas Craft and Hobby Show on Nov. 14-15 at the Indiana National Guard Armory, 125 S. Scatterfield Road.

Vendor booth rental cost for both days is $40 per booth. For applications, call Pat Coffin at 644-8201. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.



Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary plans ball

ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary are hosting a ball at the Alexandria Eagles on Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the Alexandria Eagles, Cox’s Supermarket or by contacting the Ladies Auxiliary at 425-2008.

Tickets include hors d’oeuvres and dessert. Dinner will be available for purchase. Recommended dress attire is semiformal.



Friends of Mounds to meet Thursday

ANDERSON — There will be a meeting of the Friends of Mounds State Park on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Nature Center.



Heroes’ Tree returns to Anderson library

ANDERSON — Anderson Public Library is partnering with the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University to bring “Our Heroes’ Tree” to the area.

On Wednesday, from 6 to 7 p.m., families and friends of veterans are invited to the Children’s Story Hour Room to celebrate or remember those who have served or are serving in the armed forces. Share stories and make ornaments for the tree.

Honor anyone from any branch of service, living or deceased.



‘Turkey’ square dance set for Sunday

ANDERSON — The Footloose Square Dance Club will host a square dance on Sunday at the Rangeline Community Center, 1405 N. Rangeline Road.

The caller will be Darrin Henry with cuer Judy Mouton. Pre-rounds are at 6 p.m. and the square dance is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. There will be turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and other Thanksgiving favorites.

AHS Class of ’50 to plan reunion

ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Class of 1950 will hold a 60th year reunion planning committee meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Miami Room of the Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St.

All interested are invited to attend.
