Flu clinic canceled Tuesday at church

ANDERSON — The flu shot clinic scheduled for Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church, 432 W. 300N, Anderson, has been canceled due to shortage of the vaccine. A brief in Sunday’s edition was incorrect.



Christmas program planned by tavern owners

ANDERSON — The Madison County Tavern Owners will again have its Christmas for Kids program.

To apply for help for children, between ages 1 and 10 years, residents can go to 225 E. 13th St., Anderson, Tuesday between noon and 2:30 p.m. You must bring proof of age and address.



Mothers’ group hosts day of prayer

ANDERSON — Moms In Touch International is hosting Arise! Cry Out!, a worldwide day of prayer for children and schools. This event will take place at East Side Church of God in Anderson from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Hoosier Park to honor veterans

ANDERSON — Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is having a military appreciation program. Starting Wednesday, veterans and military personnel with valid military identification will be treated to special offers and discounts throughout the week.

Wednesday, participants and their guests will be provided with round-trip transportation to the Veterans Day Memorial Service and Parade in downtown Indianapolis. A complimentary box lunch will be included. Seats are still available and can be reserved by calling (800) 526-7223.



Indiana 213 reopens at Indiana 28

TIPTON — The Indiana Department of Transportation reopened Indiana 213 with the end of construction Monday at its intersection with Indiana 28 at Hobbs. The highway is clear for both northbound and southbound traffic. Indiana 28 is open to normal traffic flow as well.

E & B Paving of Anderson, the state’s contractor, will complete placing surface asphalt and finishing ancillary work under the traffic.



Veterans’ bricks dedication Tuesday

ANDERSON — The second round of veterans’ memorial bricks for 2009 have been installed in the Veterans Commons area of Shadyside Memorial Park and will be dedicated in a ceremony led by Mayor Kris Ockomon at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the park.

During the ceremony, 46 bricks will be dedicated. The event is open to the public.



Primrose to host Chamber event

ANDERSON — Primrose Retirement Community, 1118 W. Cross St., will host a Chamber Business After Hours 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The event is free and open to all Anderson/Madison County Chamber of Commerce members.

The event will have door prizes, musical entertainment, finger foods and beverages.
