Community dinner set for Tuesday

ANDERSON — Crossroads United Methodist, 2000 N. Scatterfield Road, will offer a free community Thanksgiving dinner, the John Lawson Memorial Pilgrim Dinner, from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Free transportation to the dinner will be provided from the city’s downtown bus terminal.

Lawson was a homeless man who was befriended by the church.

Hot holiday toy at Saint Mary’s auction

ANDERSON — The ZhuZhu pet, a hot holiday toy, will be among dozens of unique items up for bid at the Saint Mary’s Fundraising Auction today at 7 p.m. at the school, 321 E. 11th St.

The ZhuZhus retail for $7.99 but have sold online for as much as $200. The auction will also feature Colts items including some autographed by Peyton Manning, plus a range of services, dining certificates, furniture, pie-of-the-month and other unique items.

Refreshments will be served and baby-sitting services provided. Tickets are $15. All proceeds go to the school.



Weight management support group set

ANDERSON — Community Hospital Anderson will offer a free weight management support group starting in December. The group’s first meeting will be Monday, Dec. 14, in the Diabetes Care Center in the lower level of the 1601 building, on the campus of Community Anderson.

The group’s regular meetings will continue to be on the second Monday of each month.

CrownPointe sets Christmas bazaar

ANDERSON — CrownPointe Communities, 2727 CrownPointe Circle, plans a Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Set-up time will be 7:30 a.m.

The event is free to all vendors, but tables are not furnished. For more information, call Debbie or Jenny at 641-9995.



Legion post hosts Thanksgiving dinner

PENDLETON — The Pendleton American Legion Post 117, 611 W. State St., will have its annual Thanksgiving pitch-in dinner for members, their families and guests Sunday. Doors open at noon, and the meal will be served at 2 p.m. Meat will be furnished. Those attending should bring a covered dish.



Gospel concert at Allen Chapel

ANDERSON — Psalmist recording artist Denise Clark will be featured at the Celebration, Praise & Worship Gospel Concert at 5 p.m. Saturday at Allen Chapel AME Church. Additional guests will be Sandy Hill, Leonard Carver and Choir, Mount Zion Apostolic Church and the Central Indiana Gospel Music Workshop.
