ANDERSON, Ind. — Habitat seeks homeowners

ANDERSON — Representatives from Habitat for Humanity will be giving out application and providing information about the program Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Redbud Room at Anderson Public Library.

Habitat volunteers will be on hand to provide information on income requirements, home locations, zero-interest loans and house payments as well as assisting interested persons with the application process. Additional information is available by contacting Habitat for 649-4260.



AARP to meet on Wednesday

ANDERSON — The local chapter of AARP 1686 will meet for breakfast at Perkins at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The regular meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at the Anderson Public Library. The speaker will be Maleah Stringer from Anderson Animal Care & Control. Members will be bringing donations to help Stringer with the animals.



Social Security offices closed Monday

ANDERSON — All Social Security Administration (SSA) district offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day. However, SSA’s national online services will be available on Labor Day at www.socialsecurity.gov from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. and SSA’s 24-hour automated telephone services will be available at (800) 772-1213.
