ANDERSON, Ind. — A compilation of news items from the Madison County area:

Location changed for food distribution

ANDERSON — Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana will provide food for families in need at the monthly tailgate distribution from noon to 2 p.m. Friday while supplies last.

Participants must enter the drive-through line from the Broadway entrance of Shadyside Park. For traffic control purposes, participants are asked not to line up before 11 a.m.

Trinity service honors musicians

ANDERSON — On Wednesday, Trinity Episcopal Church, 1030 Brown-Delaware St., will honor the legacy of J.S. Bach, George F. Handel and Henry Purcell at the noon service.

Earl and Beverly Scott will perform selections by these three composers who are known for their significant contributions to traditional religious music.

The service and concert are open to the public.



Vaccinations available Thursday

ANDERSON — The Madison County Community Health Center, 1547 Ohio Ave., will be providing back-to-school immunizations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Health Center patients should call and schedule a Thursday appointment for their children who need immunizations for this school year.

Children 11 years and older will be required to be vaccinated against meningococcal disease and pertussis prior to school entry if five years have passed since their last tetanus/diphtheria inoculation.

Vaccine clinic set at health department

ANDERSON — The Madison County Health Department will provide vaccines for children grades 6 to 12 only who need their additional T-dap, MCV4, and second Varicella to comply with Indiana’s recent change in immunization requirements.

Clinic hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3; 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 4, and 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5.

All children must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or someone 18 years or older with written consent allowing them to accompany the child. A current shot record is also required.

Cemetery care to be discussed at meeting

ANDERSON — The Madison County Cemetery Commission will be meeting Wednesday at the Anderson Public Library, third floor, at 6 p.m.

The cemeteries under discussion will be the Pickard, Monroe Township; the Otterbein, Union Township; the Curtis, Richland Township; the Rogers/Richwine Cemetery, Jackson Township. The public is invited.



Black Expo parade still seeks entries

ANDERSON — Parade entries are being accepted for the Aug. 7 Anderson Black Expo Parade. Performing units are welcome, as are floats and participation by churches, bands, organizations, companies, show cars and others. There is a fee to enter.
