ANDERSON — As if watching the Indianapolis Colts prepare for another championship season wasn’t exciting enough, the team is also bringing off-field entertainment.
It’s called Colts City.
Beginning Aug. 2, training camp visitors will be treated to free activities for kids and adults alike.
Colts City will include Colts interactive inflatables, including the mountain slide, football bouncer and quarterback toss, according to Colts.com.
Sponsor booths along with giveaways and register to win ticket opportunities for an Aug. 15 game will also be made available.
Anderson will also be home to the Colts in Motion traveling museum during camp, along with the Colts Express retail trailer.
A cheerleader autograph session will be included in Colts City events along with appearances by Blue, the official mascot of the Indianapolis Colts.
A rock climbing wall is also expected to be part of Colts City.
The city has a few activities planned to keep fans entertained off the field.
Tammy Bowman of the city of Anderson said the Shadyside fireworks, which were rescheduled from June 27 due to severe weather, will be set off on Aug. 14.
The Shadyside event will also feature an outdoor movie.
Sponsored by the Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau, “The Blind Side,” starring Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock, will be shown in the park at about 9:15 p.m., she said, followed by fireworks just after 11 p.m.
The event kicks off at 6 p.m. with the dedication and celebration of the Born Learning trail and announcement of the winners of the True Blue decoration contest.
Mayor Kris Ockomon said he was encouraged by the variety of off-the-field activities planned for training camp.
“Obviously we’re excited about all (the Colts’) extra participation,” the mayor said, “not only with the team being here, but the marketing aspect.”
