Area roundup: Earley, Lions bounce back

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Liberty Christian 36, Fall Creek Academy 21

Karon Earley shook off an injury suffered in Friday’s loss to Elwood and led the Lions with 14 points. Riley Ramsey and Erika Lindley added eight points each.

Liberty Christian (1-3) hosts Greenwood Christian on Dec. 1.

GIRLS SWIMMING

New Palestine 143, Pendleton Hts. 135, Rushville 34

The Arabians had six first-place finishes. Autumn Brown was the only multiple winner as an individual, taking first place in the 100-yard free and the 100-yard back.

The Arabians (1-2) travel to Muncie Central on Dec. 1.

    The two teams turned a sleepy weeknight crowd electric Tuesday night with a wild, high-flying affair that ended with a 92-91 Royals victory, new individual scoring records for both schools and a home crowd that remained standing in proud applause long after the final buzzer.
