Area roundup: Elwood girls even record at 2-2


GIRLS BASKETBALL

Elwood 51, Horizon Christian 32

Sara Phillips scored 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Panthers to a second win in four outings.

Katelyn Jones added 15 points and nine boards.



Tipton 61, Frankton 39

Mollie Hamilton scored 14 points, pulled down four rebounds and had three assists, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Eagles from dropping to 2-2 on the season.

Frankton will travel to Shenandoah on Friday.



Highland 83, Muncie South 45

Jessica Lark scored 19 points, and Britney Ball had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Highland victory.

The Scots had four players score in double figures. Krosley Ogden scored 15 points and Kelsey Key 10. Highland is 2-2 and will take a week off before playing at Marion next Wednesday.



Wabash 48, Madison-Grant 30

No Argyll scored in double figures as Madison-Grant lost for the third time in as many games.

Holly Jarvis was the leading scorer for the Argylls with nine points. Olivia Stroup added eight rebounds



BOYS BASKETBALL

Cowan 63, Liberty Christian 30

Eric Huddleston scored 11 points, and Anderson Henderson had seven as the Lions lost their season-opener.

Liberty Christian will play against Alexandria on Friday in a game at Anderson University.
