Explosion rocks refinery on Delaware River

MARCUS HOOK, Pa. — Firefighters are trying to control a blaze that erupted from an explosion at an oil refinery along the Delaware River.

Television helicopter footage from several television stations showed fire trucks spraying down flames shooting high into the air late Sunday at the Sunoco refinery complex straddling the Delaware/Pennsylvania border.

An EPA report says the frontage of the refinery extends approximately 4,800 feet along the northern banks of the Delaware River. The facility is bordered by industrial land use and commercial/residential properties
