ALEXANDRIA, Ind. —
Shirley Ann Britton, 77, of Alexandria, passed away on Dec. 6, 2012, at Community Hospital Anderson.
She was born on April 8, 1935, in Elwood, and resided most of her life in Madison County.
Shirley graduated from Wendell Wilkie High School.
She was a homemaker.
Shirley is survived by her loving daughter, Marty Courtney of Anderson; brother, Chuck Leakey of Elwood; grandson, Jesse Courtney of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Taylor Courtney of Anderson; grandson, Chris Courtney of Anderson; two nieces, Cathy (Kim) Harmon of Elwood and Kelly Herrick; the father of her grandchildren, Don Courtney of Anderson; and caring neighbors, Carol Whitinger and Dave Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Lee Britton; and her parents, Mabel and Lyman Richard Leakey.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Pleasant Walk Cemetery in Anderson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Hospice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, Anderson.
