Deanna ‘Dee’ Borgerding

Feb. 7, 1945 - March 12, 2013

ANDERSON, Ind. — Deanna Dee (Sipple) Borgerding, 68, passed away March 12, 2013, at Community Hospital after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 7, 1945, in Marysville, Kan., to Everett C. Sipple and Cora I. (Ferris) Sipple. As a child and teenager, Deanna was an avid reader, dance instructor and life guard.

She graduated from Marysville High School in 1963 and earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Kansas and her master’s degree at Kansas State University. A lifelong lover of knowledge and reading, Deanna was a high school Latin and English teacher in both Kansas and later in Anderson at Madison Heights Junior High School and Madison Heights High School.

Deanna had a passion for gardening, golfing, travel, playing cards and games, and playing with her beloved grandchildren. She was also an active member of Tri Kappa and Killbuck Ladies’ Golf League.

Survivors include by her husband of 41 years, Paul Borgerding of Anderson; her three daughters, Amy Gerardot of Fishers, Lisa Borgerding of Kent, Ohio, and Susan Curtis of Pendleton; her sons-in-law, Anthony Gerardot and A.J. Curtis; her five granddaughters, Aubrey Curtis, Janel Gerardot, Taylor Gerardot, Rosa Donnelly and Kate Gerardot; her sister, Shirley Wynn of Berthoud, Colo.; and many more family and friends.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents and brother Everett C. Sipple Jr.

A private memorial will be held to celebrate Deanna’s vibrant spirit and rich life in May.

Arrangements handled by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Indianapolis.
