ANDERSON, Ind. —
Beverly J. Downey, 80, of Anderson, passed away Jan. 5, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born July 28, 1932, in Anderson, the daughter of Kenneth and LaVonn (VanDyke) Horton. She was a lifelong Anderson resident and was a homemaker.
Beverly was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 266.
She is survived by her children, Steve Turpen, Cathy Menefee, Sharon Ann (husband, Joe) Mansell and Bobbie (husband, Doug) Valentine, all of Anderson, and Karla Nathan of Kansas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Horton of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Turpen; second husband, Hubert Downey; granddaughter, Stephanie Turpen; and brother, Larry Horton.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McCaslin officiating. Private burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
