ANDERSON, Ind. —
Paul Alatza, 84, of Anderson, passed away Jan. 21, 2013, at Countryside Manor Health & Living Community after an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Anderson, the son of the late Elias and Mildred (Dilts) Alatza. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1946 and was a member of the cross country and track state championship team. He was a lifelong Anderson resident, served in the U.S. Army and was owner of Alatza Real Estate & Appraisal Service.
Paul was past three-time president of Anderson Madison County Board of Realtors and a member of AHEPA.
He is survived by his son, Rex Alatza of Anderson; three stepchildren, Richard (wife, Kimberly) Walker of Pendleton, Dorian (husband, Mark) Lawler of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Michael (wife, Pamela) Walker of Anderson; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother, George (wife, Judy) Alatza of Fort Wayne; sister, Evelyn Wiley of Warsaw; and special friend, Kelly Summers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene J. Alatza; and sister, Elaine Paris.
The family would like to thank Countryside Manor for all their care and compassion.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
