Robert M. Brock

Feb. 9, 1914 - Dec. 5, 2012

ANDERSON, Ind. — Robert M. Brock, 98, died Dec. 5, 2012, at his residence in Anderson following an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Mercer, Ohio, the son of Lloyd and Florence (Gales) Brock. He graduated from Celina High School in 1932 and attended St. Claire College for drafting.

He worked 20 years at Aero Products in Vandalia, Ohio, as an aircraft welder and moved to Indianapolis in 1962 to work for Detroit Diesel Allison, Division of General Motors and later became a supervisor. He retired in 1974 with 32 years of service. He moved to Anderson in 1977.

He married Luella E. Apple on Sept. 22, 1936, and she preceded him in death in 2006. He was a member of East Side Church of God and enjoyed Bible study and other groups within the church.

Survivors include his daughter, Sheryl (husband Thomas) Hawsey of Anderson; three grandchildren, Lori (Mark) Lubs  of  Anderson, Robin (Ricky) Cummings of Indianapolis,  and Christopher (Megan) Hawsey of Greenfield; seven great-grandchildren, Dustin Lubs, Austen Cummings, Jaksen Cummings, Raegan Cummings, Abby Phillips, Casey Phillips and Hannah Hawsey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Luella; and three brothers, Kenneth, John and Paul.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. James Rose officiating.

The visitation will be Saturday from noon until the service at funeral home.

On Monday, services will be held at 11 a.m. at Snyder Road Church of God in Piqua, Ohio. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua, Ohio, with Jamieson Yannucci Funeral Home handling the services in Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
