ANDERSON, Ind. —
Ada Louise Layman, 80, of Anderson, passed away March 18, 2013, at Community Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 12, 1932, in Gosport, the daughter of Clint and Lettie (Tucker) Young and had lived in Anderson since 1956.
She retired from Anderson Community Schools after 31 years and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband, Delma H. “Joe” Layman of Anderson; sons, Stan (wife, Denise) Wilson of Anderson, Doug (wife, Kim) Layman of Frankton and Greg (wife, Michelle) Layman of Van Buren; grandchildren, Jennifer (Darin) Pratt, Brian (Tonia) Layman, Joe Layman, Elise Layman, Kevin Layman, Alex Layman, Jaden Layman, Hayden Layman and Caleb Layman; great-grandchildren, Kayley, Xander, Dillon and Lily; brothers, Ira (Vivian) Young and Bill Young; sisters, Leva Young, Bea Franklin, Leona (Palmer) Sheppard and Lucille (Jerry) McHaley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rick L. Wilson; and brother, Tom Young.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Gilmore officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
