FISHERS, Ind. —
Esther Ann (Gettys) Whitlow, 91, Fishers, passed away Feb. 5, 2012, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Hartford City, Indiana, and resided in the area since 1920.
Esther was the office manager and owner of Whitlow’s House of Color Paint Store for 19 years.
She was a member of the Anderson Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a loving mom and grandma, and loved her family and helping others. She was the staple of the Whitlow family.
She is survived by her children, Karen Haynes of Honolulu, Hawaii, Beverly Ingle (Keith) of Bowling Green, Jennifer Whitlow (Donnell) of Indianapolis, Chester Whitlow Jr. (Thresa) of Miami, Fla., and Peggy Whitlow (Bob) of Noblesville; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Vaughn Gettys Jr. and Geraldine (Hilma) Boyles; husband, Chester Whitlow, who passed away Feb. 5, 1963; brothers, Charles Gettys, James Vaughn Gettys Jr. and Ruth Threadgill; and grandchild, Michael Stottlemeyer.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Don Gettys officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Academy Scholarship or any Humane Society.
