ANDERSON, Ind. —
Robert “Bob” A. Matthews, 76, Anderson, passed away Feb. 5, 2012. at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 3, 1936, in Rossville, Ill., and resided in Anderson most of his life.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and had worked at Delco Remy Division of General Motors.
Robert was a member of the Moose Lodge 150 in Anderson and the American Legion 408 in Chesterfield.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married Feb. 14, 1996, Pam (Ivans) Matthews; children, Christina (Dan) Epperson of Fountaintown, Pamela Jo (companion, Bill) Matthews of Zionsville, Jeff Matthews of Ingalls, Jamie (Jennifer) Matthews of Fortville, and Jason (companion, Tammy) Matthews of Chesterfield; stepdaughter, Michelle Sanchez (Tony) of Murrieta, Calif.; sister, Patty (Bill) McCurry of Anderson; brother, Don Matthews of Marion; special companion, Tojo; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Bessie (Beatty) Matthews; sisters, Dolly Klasner, Evelyn Sanderson, Ruby Hite and Charlene McRoberts; and brother, John Matthews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St.
Cremation will take place.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or Madison County Humane Society.
