DANVILLE, Ind. — Doris Gates Perdue, 94, of Danville, and formerly of Indianapolis, died Aug. 31, 2010.

Doris was born Jan. 10, 1916, in Huntington, W.Va., to Clarence E. and Georgia (Hagar) Gates. Doris married Raymond John Perdue on Dec. 25, 1932, in Lavalette, W.Va.

Her husband, preceded her in death along with a grandchild, Melanie Lynne Perdue Ortiz.

Doris is survived by her children, Carol (Harold Eugene) Middleton, Raymond Glenn (Dorothy Pauline) Perdue and Loundle Joe (Alice) Perdue; and her grandchildren, John Powers (Cheryl) Perdue, Elden Glenn (deceased, Catherine) Perdue, Edward Eugene Middleton, Suann (Dr. Vernon) Sondak; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive, Indianapolis, Ind.

There will be no visitation. Inurnment and graveside services will be held Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Wayne, W.Va. 1-800-844-0700.
