Marilyn S. Clendenen

Jan. 1, 1932 - Sept. 3, 2010

ANDERSON — Marilyn S. (Condon) Clendenen passed away in peace, at her home, with her children and loved ones around her.

Marilyn was born Jan. 1, 1932. She was the “New Year’s Baby” and the pride and joy of her parents and brother. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1950. On March 20, 1951, she married the love of her life, Rex “Pete” Clendenen. Together, they shared their love for their children, family and friends. They treasured their family vacations to Wisconsin and the memories made that will last forever.

Marilyn retired from the City of Anderson.

She was a member of Elks 368, VFW 5782, American Legion 0127, the Eastern Star, Grandview Ladies Social and IBEW. She loved cards, bingo and sports. Above all, she loved her children with a passion.

Survivors include her six children, Rex and Mary of Iowa, Vickie and Buddy of Elwood, and Cindy and Steve, David and Pam, Jenni and Tim and Scott and Laura, all of Anderson; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Mickey Condon (Arlene) of Pennsylvania; and many other much loved family members, cherished friends and her “Fun Bunch.”

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Rex “Pete” Clendenen; and her parents, Mickey and Edith (Farmer) Condon.

Marilyn will forever be remembered for her smile, humor and genuine love for her family. We will always “think happy thoughts.”

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Pointe Activity Department, 1707 Bethany Road, Anderson, IN 46012 and/or Heartland Hospice, 931 E. 86th St., Suite 208, Indianapolis, IN 46240.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home and Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Joe Huff and Shad Grile. Burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
