ELWOOD, Ind. — Margaret S. Heritz, 87, a lifelong resident of Anderson, died on the 5th day of March, 2013.

She was born April 13, 1925, to Theodore and Lula (Brooks) Sanders. She was a graduate of Anderson High School and attended Purdue computer classes at Anderson University.

She and her husband, Frank, enjoyed many trips in their motor home and their vacation home on the Ohio River with family and friends. They also enjoyed five ocean cruises, including three to Alaska (where they visited the oil wells at Prudhoe Bay) and one through the Panama Canal.  During their traveling years, Margaret and Frank visited all 50 states of the United States.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Frank Heritz; daughters, Cindy Darlington of Anderson, Charysse (Chuck) Kile of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Coni (Mike) Stephens of Wildemar, Calif.; stepdaughters, Cheryl (Tommy) Wood of Sandy, Ore., and Barbara (Mike) Lindzy of Anderson; and special niece, Lana (Jay) Moore of Pendleton.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her sister, Marilyn Jeanne Bell; brother, Paul Sanders; and grandson, Kevin Kile.

Margaret’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Monticello House, Saint John’s Hospice, Community Hospital Hospice and also Dr. Mark Stinson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, Anderson. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
