ELWOOD, Ind. —
Tommy K. Young , 74, of Elwood, passed away March 13, 2013, at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood following an extended illness.
Tommy was born on June 18, 1938, to Paul B. Lane and Uva (Kelly) Young in Frankton. On Aug. 2, 1959, he married Dora Lee (Bird) Young and she passed away on Jan. 8, 2005.
Tommy retired in 1995 from Delco Remy after 36 years of service to the company and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662.
Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Young of Mansfield, Mass., and Darren Young of Deluthe, Minn.; daughter, Clarissa (Art) Frye of Vine Grove, Ky.; granddaughter, Adalia Frye; two sisters, Eileen M. Young of Elwood and Janet Heaton of Elwood; four brothers, Billy Young of Elkhart, James W. Young of Elwood, Terry Young of Frankton, and Danny “Bo” Young of Elwood; .
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul B. Lane; stepfather, Walter J. Young; mother, Uva Alice (Kelly) Young; wife, Dora Lee Young; and brothers, Marc Ernest Lane Tony C Young
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ben Capshaw, officiating. Burial will take place in the K of P & I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
