ANDERSON, Ind. —
Josephine LeRose (Catanzaro) Eccles, 95, of Anderson, passed away March 17, 2013, at Monticello House after a short illness.
She was born July 9, 1917, in Indianapolis, to Marie (Beaupre) Catanzaro and Leo Catanzaro. She attended Catholic Schools in Indianapolis. Josephine loved to dance and would walk miles to Garfield Park to dance. She was married in 1939 to Raymond Eccles.
She loved to play cards and charmed everyone with her warmth and humor. Her wonderful smile and laugh will be missed. If you asked her how she was she always answered with, “fat and sassy.” She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by three children, Sharon (Eccles) Worley Jessup, Edwin Ray Eccles and Michael Louis Eccles; grandchildren, John Worley, Greg Worley, Kristine Thompson, Jean Eccles, Stephanie Eccles, Cameron Eccles, Nikki Sandoval and Jada Walsh; and great-grandchildren, Amanda Eccles, David Eccles, Jordan Worley, Rachael Southworth, Devin Walsh, Kelsie Walsh, Tyler Walsh, Tyler Eccles, Colton Eccles, Monica Resendiz, Jeff Sandoval and Chelsea Sandoval.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Eccles; son, Robert Stewart Eccles; and one sister.
A Celebration of Life Gathering of friends and family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Longfellow Woods Club House, 3812 Daisyhill Drive, Anderson.
