Betty Jane Frick

May 3, 1922 - March 12, 2013

ELLENTON, Fla. — Betty Jane (Allshouse) Frick, 90, Ellenton, Fla., died March 12, 2013, at Riviera Palms Rehabilitation Center, Palmetto, Fla., after a period of declining health.

She was born on May 3, 1922, in Falls Creek, Pa., to Edgar Allen and Clara Elizabeth (Love) Allshouse. She moved to Ellenton, Fla., full-time in 2006, having lived in Lapel, Ind., since 1951.

She graduated from Falls Creek High School in Falls Creek, Pa., and Sewickley Valley School of Nursing in Sewickley, Pa. As a registered nurse, she worked at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville and for Dr. A. Ridgeway in Lapel.

She was a 62-year member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a member of Madison County Ladies Shrine Club, Lapel Bridge Club, Tidevue Estates Bridge Club, Red Hats and a Girl Scout leader. One of her greatest joys was attending her grandchildren’s sporting and school events.

She will be greatly missed by four children, Jane Warfel of Indianapolis, Sally (husband, Bob) Groves of Sarasota, Fla., William Frick Jr. of Carmel, and Patty (husband, Dan) Johnson of McCordsville. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, Wade (wife Eavan) Warfel of Indianapolis, Wendy Lane of Pendleton, Nate (wife, Tiffany) Warfel of Pendleton, Matthew (wife, Tamara) Warfel of Newburgh, Tricia (husband, Tony) Pecoraro of Carmel, Nick (wife, Lisa) Groves of Fort Wayne, Ashley (husband, Aaron) Schilb of Fort Wayne, Jill (husband, Joe) Perkins of Fort Wayne, Brittany (husband,  Aaron) Overman of Indianapolis, Matthew Frick of Indianapolis, and Melinda (husband, Bob) Humphrey of Evansville; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Frick; her parents; two grandsons, Michael Johnson and Jeffrey Frick; great-grandson, Robert Perkins; three sisters; and six brothers.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, with Pastor Doug Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Mission Fund, P.O Box 606, Lapel, IN 46051.
