ANDERSON, Ind. —
Barbara Jean Peterson, 56, of Anderson, died Aug. 31, 2010, at her residence after she endured a courageous 10-year battle with the effects of breast cancer.
She has resided in Anderson for 56 years. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1973 and attended Ivy Technical College studying photography. She loved animals, including her cats, spotted and white horses and Shetland ponies.
She enjoyed gardening, picture puzzles, and spending time outside and vacationing with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Tracy Peterson of Anderson; sons, Joshua (wife, Tori) Peterson and Jeremy Peterson, both of Anderson; daughter, Jenna Peterson of Anderson; brother, Steve Bailey of Anderson; sister, Cindy and husband, Don Fox of New Castle; grandchildren, Lucas and Jayley Peterson and one unborn grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Jeraldine Bailey; brothers, John and Michael Bailey and Terry Ricker; and sister, Linda Bailey.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Guilkey Funeral Home with Rev. Richard True officiating. Entombment will take place in the Maplewood Cemtery.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
