Rudolph J. “Jack” Rollins II

Jan. 1, 1949 - March 30, 2010

ANDERSON — Rudolph J. “Jack” Rollins II was born Jan. 1, 1949, in Marion, to Rudolph J. Rollins and Florence E. (Tolbert) Rollins.

He graduated from Anderson High School in 1967 while employed by the City of Anderson Parks Department. Following graduation, he was employed by Delco Remy in 1967 and completed his apprenticeship as a millwright in 1978. He retired in 2006 after 42 years of employment.

Jack’s affiliations included Union Local 662 (which merged with Local 663), the Circle of Love, and Becoming Teachable Association. He was an active member of Second Missionary Baptist Church where he was president of the Brotherhood and served on the usher board.

He is survived by two daughters, Shonda Miles of Anderson, Stacey Ancar of Norfolk, Va.; stepdaughter, Qwintisha Perry of Anderson; brother, Edward Rollins of Anderson; sisters, Florence E. Anderson of Atlanta, Ga. and Rachel I. Rollins of Anderson; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He also had those he loved as his own which include Donald and Venson Stewart, and Erica and LaJuan Wilson, all of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Elmer Rollins of Springfield, Ill.

Memorial services will be noon Saturday at Second Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. William O’Neal officiating.

Funeral services entrusted to Gholar and Gholar Funeral Services.
