DeMaris ‘Dee’ Eskew


July 2, 1930 - March 15, 2010

ANDERSON — DeMaris “Dee” (Little) Eskew, 79, Anderson, passed away March 15, 2010, at Alexandria Care Center, Alexandria, after an extended illness.

She was born July 2, 1930, in Fairmount, grew up in Summitville, and lived in Anderson most of her life. She retired in 1987 as staffing coordinator for Community Hospital after 22 years.

Dee was a member of Ovid Community Church; Order of Eastern Star and a 42-year member of a euchre club.

She is survived by her daughter, Donita (Scott) Day of Markleville; siblings, David (Vicki) Little of Summitville, Margo (Rex) Patton of Anderson, Sandy Little of Anderson and Teri (Joe) Isenburg of Alexandria; grandchildren, Heather (Brian) Burke, Dawn (Chris) Hines, Katie Day and Eric Rich; stepgrandsons, Christopher and Joshua (Melissa) Day; great-grandchildren, Joshua Burke, Kayden Burke, Rylan Burke, Kylie Day, Kelsey Day, Kaleb Day, Kody Day and Aubrey Hines; and euchre club members and special friends, Nancy Shannon, Loretta Heininger, Debbie Abbott, Donna Osborne, Arlene Van Duyn, Tiny Eskew and Jean Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married Feb. 14, 1953, Donald Eskew, who passed away in 2005; parents, James and Ruth (Riggs) Little; son, Chuck Eskew; and brother, Buddy Jim Little.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the South Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
