ANDERSON — Wayne Huffman Jr., 77, Anderson, passed away March 16, 2010, at Community Hospital, Anderson, after an extended illness.
He was born March 20, 1932, in Lapel, and resided in Madison County all of his life. Wayne served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He retired in 1988 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 38 years of service.
He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662. Wayne loved farming and helping his father with the work horses. He loved boxer dogs, especially the four he had during his lifetime. He was very devoted to his wife, especially during her illness.
He is survived by his sister, Faye Turner of Anderson; niece, Judy (husband, John) Best of Anderson; several other nieces and nephews; and special friend, Marilyn Branham.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean (Thurber) Huffman; parents, William and Lella (Sisson) Huffman; and seven siblings.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the South Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Baker officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266.
