CADIZ — Esther Mae Boram, 90, of Cadiz, passed away March 17, 2010, at Henry County Hospital, New Castle.



She was born Jan. 16, 1920, in Henry County, to the late Fred Alfred and Mary Josephine (Smith) Swartz.



A lifelong resident of the Cadiz area, she fulfilled her dream of living at home until the time of her passing.

She was employed at Shenandoah School Corp. as a cook at the middle school and retired in 1985.



She was a member of Kennard Christian Church from 1932 to 1939 and recently a member of Cadiz Christian Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Aid for 66 years. She loved fishing and also gardening. She was a devoted wife to her husband of more than 60 years, Robert Allen Boram.



Survivors include four children, Mary Jo (husband, Rodney) Hoover, David A. (wife, Karen) Boram, Steven Ward (wife, Betty) Boram, and Nila Ann (husband, Robert) Blackburn; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Dorcus Stauber; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.



In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.



Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Cadiz Christian Church. Burial will be in Fall Creek Cemetery.



Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
